« on: September 30, 2016, 10:09:36 AM »
Hey guys! Let's see your gear progression down through the years.

I started playing in 2006, but the earliest actual photos I could find were from 2010.

Operation Watchtower @ Bangor, 2010
Classic Army M727 Carbine
Classic Blackhawk Down Loadout
DCUs

Rec game at No Limits, 2010
Classic Army M727 with MOE foregrip, CTR stock and I think I bodged a PEQ-15 onto the side. Tossed my Surefire onto the barrel.
DCUs

Eagle Industries UCR clone

Operation Fueling the Fire at Splatmandu, 2011

This was after I tried to climb through the huge crack pile on site...

Unfortunately I've got few old pictures one I just found the other day digging around that I didn't realize still existed. This is from 2003? I believe me at a game downstate don't recall which one, along with from memory Talisman, Xaos, and Savage(old MIA forum names, guys are gone now).

And in the last couple years I've only taken a very few pictures since usually I'm organizing events more often than not and I'm always busy running around keeping things on the rails. So this is last year, testing a sort of black hawk down style loadout:

And then later down the road into that winter here was my winter headshot though the gear wouldn't show much since it was all inside the outer layer. It was -10F when the picture was taken, I was setup for sniping with my bolt gun in this gear, so more less sitting still holding position for long time frames. Quite comfortable all things considered, though my beard was freezing to my mesh mask and pulling out hairs;)

And here is just a quick one of me in my ghillie suit, I am in this picture and off to the right hand side nearly right above the left hand tire in the pile. But it just happened to be a random picture I had handy:)

And then the most current which is the loadout I'm working on for OP Irene this year, mostly old school not by plan this is pretty much what I run in games typically. Simple plate carrier old ProTac helmet from years ago I've had this for 20+ years now. My Old CA M15A4, CYMA Glock 18c AEP in the holster, Belt I built myself. Just overall a simple setup that works well for me, few things have changed but not a whole lot. I built out a new holster for myself to eliminate that duty holster I'm wearing. And a few other bits. Also no eye pro since this wasn't in game, this was actually me getting ready to go for a walk/run to see how the gear felt on and find any issues with anything before hand. As well gave me a chance to push harder on that little bit of exercise. And for anyone concerned I live way out in the woods, so that run/walk didn't even leave my property despite being a couple miles total.

I wish I still had more old pictures from back in the day, I did have some but they have been lost with hard drive failures and companies killing off old image hosting etc. And digital cameras weren't very common at games either way back when, or at least most guys didn't have them like we do now;) So I'm likely stuck with the very few I have. Though I do need to get better about that going forward.

Pagan, do you know which Flash Fire your one photo is from?  I ask because someone nearby you looks familiar if it was Flash Fire 3.

Favorite has to be the Island Thunder one.  It has that "freelance ship security" cross with "rogue boat captain"  look. ;D

Probably not 3 then, as that was my first event ever and that was 2006 iirc.  It is just that the 2nd fellow behind your right with the shemagh, woodland, and what looks to be a crossdraw vest reminds me of my early years playing.  I am pretty sure at Flash Fire 3 I was wearing a full paintball mask though.
