Airsoft Discussion / Shot Show 2019
« on: March 27, 2019, 11:40:34 AM »
A month late to get into it, but what were your highlights? Things you liked/disliked? 2 things that I'm really looking forward to would be the new G&G Piranha, and the new TAG Co2 Shells.

I'm very interested in this, but I'd like to hear a bit more info on activities and maybe see some photos.

The Brain Exploader mount works great for my Hero 5 Session, I would recommend getting the lends protector, or at least the warranty for your Hero4 if you can. With your battery you may be able to get 8 hours, but your card might fill up before that. If you can, you should consider getting an additional memory card. My 64GB states that it can record to 4 hours with those settings. As for battery packs, I bought the Milsim West Gopro external battery pouch with http://www.ebay.com/itm/401254410432?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT This battery pack which fits perfectly. Although to get it to charge you do have to press a button so that's kinda annoying. I have yet to completely fill the memory card, or run out of battery, but I've also only done games that last 8 hours so that's my .02.

Accessories & Ammo / Looking For A Headset
« on: April 29, 2017, 10:56:34 PM »
I'm in the market for getting a radio headset/ear protection but I'm confused as to where I should be looking. What I'm looking for specifically:

1) Over the ear protection
2) Sound Amp
3) Helmet Rail attachment
4)Boom Mic

Where I'm running into issues is where I see problems with headsets where they don't have rail attachment availability, or the rail attachments are poor quality. Any help into the right direction would be very much appreciated!

My new VFC Scar L CQB that will (hopefully) be my main assault gun for tan team! Attached is a EOTech Replica holo sight and a Acetech AT1000 Tracer Unit. I am waiting on a VFC EGLM and when it arrives I'm looking into painting the gun two tone Tan/Black. Right now it's all stock but eventually I'm looking into upgrading for a tight bore barrel and motor.

I would be interested in hearing more about those pouches

How far do you travel to play airsoft? Usually around 70-100 miles
How often do you play per month? I shoot for twice a month
How many BB’s do you use during the spand of All Day Play(12 hours)? 2,000 - 5,000
Do you purchase lunch from the fields you play at? No I pack my own
What do you like/dislike about the current fields you play on? (Design/Layout, Services, Fees) I like the variety of fields, mostly when there are areas that are specific for CQB or long range.
What do you consider a fair price at a top quality field or event? Top quality $35-50
If a field was designed and run specifically for airsoft, I.e. no paintballers, would you be willing to…
A. Travel Farther? How far? It doesn't bother me that much.
B. Pay more?
C. Play more often?

How often do you visit an actual business licensed airsoft field? Often
How much monthly do you spend on airsoft? ~$50
Are you apart of a team? No
Would you attend during special events, regular daily play or both? Both
Are you interested in State/League competition play? Sounds interesting
Do you enjoy teaching new players? I don't mind it

Tech Questions / Converting a VFC Scar L STD to CQC
« on: April 07, 2017, 09:53:32 PM »
So I just noticed that the VFC Scar L CQC was now discontinued which is really unfortunate as that was what I was looking to get next. I see that the STD version is still there as well as a G&G version. My question being: assuming that I was going to get a tight bore barrel anyway, could I simply get a short inner barrel and outer barrel (I'm not sure what I would need to look for outer) and get the same thing right? Or is it not worth it and I should just get the G&G version?

I believe these were back from when I started in '08-'09.

My first WMiA game with my JG Thunder Maul

and probably some backyard game with my G36k. Still rocking the Tiger Stripe, but I finally out grew the white yellow hair.

My Division loadout

Very Nice! Is that watch custom made or official?

I've been looking at that Kriss AEG Vector as I don't have any CQB Guns (Well... any that are decent). I know the Vector is an iconic gun in the game, so that would be an interesting addition.

Also I found it funny that Ubisoft has created an "official" cosplay guide! http://tomclancy-thedivision.ubisoft.com/game/en-us/news/152-269653-16/the-division-cosplay-guide

Clothing & Load Bearing Gear / Re: Pyramex safety glasses.

Amazon Reviews appear to vary between person to person. Most likely it depends on the face shape of the wearer. The set that I own doesn't fog and is fairly comfortable. If you do buy these, I would say have a back up for worst case scenarios, and give them a test run.

I think I was watching some Revelations gameplay from Swamp Sniper that gave me the idea to look into the loadout! Such an interesting style of set up. Glad to see that other people have also considered making a similar loadout. I have a small sling bag that I would probably use, but I'm really interested in seeing what kind of bag you're using!

Currently I am in between purchasing new camouflage as my premade harness will no longer work. It's going to be a while still I can save up for a bunch of new gear. So I was derping around trying to get a price list when the game "The Division" came to mind. I remembered that most weekend game have a "civilian/contact" team and until I get tax returns and purchase new gear, I could essentially be a Division Agent.

The gas mask could be pretty much any kind as in game they switch based on whatever one you equip, but as I am running around I believe that this would be a good one. It stated on the website that the straps help lock down the mask, and a bottom vent helps direct air away from visors.

You can find the patch just about anywhere for really cheap.

And lastly the watch and beacon. For the watch I found this one for $5 on Amazon

And the beacon I was able to find someone had posted up a 3D model for print, but I could probably make one similar.

After that it's all civilian clothes so I could be set! (At least until I get some decent new gear)
