Tech Questions / Re: Cyma M14 outer barrel bracket nub sheered off

Yeah, when kjones734 suggesting drilling and tapping, I considered that too, but the nub is so small, it would be a pain to drill it. Ill try to JB weld/epoxy it, and if that doesn't work, ill just have to drill, tap, and replace with a screw I guess.

Tech Questions / Cyma M14 outer barrel bracket nub sheered off
« on: October 10, 2016, 04:27:13 AM »
I have a Cyma M14 I got awhile ago. It was having a feed issue where it would spit 1 bb out about 10-20ft, the spit out 2 bbs maybe 5ft at best. I took it apart and the bracket that holds the outer barrel has the little nub that locks the barrel is sheered off. Any idea where to get a new one or how to repair this one?

Yeah, I was one of the new bloods there. Despite my goggles constantly fogging, it was pretty fun. I met a ton of cool people, learned a few things, and finally got to use all my airsoft guns. My legs are killing me now because they aren't used to that kind of torture, but I feel it was well worth it. Looking forward to the next game.

I have a SkyCharger. http://www.hobbypartz.com/skychb6chdup.html
Its kind of expensive, but I believe its worth it. It can even charge NiMH and NICD too. Its an older model and I believe most places are sold out, but its a starting point I suppose.

Yeah, I decided not to go with it after all. Kinda got screwed out of a random box from evike, so I want to avoid random stuff for awhile.

I couldn't go since I joined the forums like 7 hours before the event was supposed to begin and couldn't get gear together. Despite that, Ill throw my thanks out too for setting up events so close to me. Ill do everything I possibly can to make it to the next one.

Newbie Discussion / Re: To Snipe or Not to Snipe

Novritsch uses a TM VSR 10 with huge success. Hes probably the biggest airsofter I know of, and is definitely the best sniper. Be sells upgrade kits for these on his site to upgrade it. There are clones too, but some cant be upgrades as much as the original. If you want to go for the original look, check out the SRS A1 Silverback. You said price want a factor, so this is probably one of the most expensive stock snipers you can find. Heres a link:
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Sniper_Rifles_Silverback_Silverback_SRS_A1_26_inches_Long_Barrel_Ver_Licensed_by_Desert_Tech.htm
I don't know about upgrades for it, but at least it stands out. I mention it because I want it so bad, but its $520. I believe TM vsr 10s go for half that and are known to be highly upgradable.

yeah, I bought 5 random boxes on airsoftgi, out of which I got 2 not so great chest rigs and 3 of the same spring shotgun for about $100-150, but theres always that chance you get something actually worth it.

The one month package is $50 + shipping, so it will be a bit more expensive. The $40 option is only if you buy a years worth of boxes up front. Still though, I think Ill buy one crate and list what I get. Maybe its a good deal, maybe the stuff will suck. Im fine with getting BBs, as I only have about 7.5k right now in 2 weights. I feel like the first box would have a cheap red dot, some gloves, a small bag of bbs, Stanag mags, etc. I feel like they wouldn't actually include a pistol in the box unless its a springer. I would be ok with a springer revolver though.

Airsoft Discussion / Anyone heard of the airsoft Care Package?

Just found a link for something called an airsoft Care Package. Essentially, its lootcrate, but for airsoft. If you don't know what lootcrate is, you get a box once a month with cool items in it, like a shirt, figure, book, pins, etc. Has anyone gotten this Care Package or heard of it? Don't know if I can post links, but here goes:
